Pray for Stellan

Okay guys, there is a family out there that really needs us to be on our knees before God. They have a very sick little boy. Things do not look good at all for him. You can follow him by clicking on his picture on the left of the screen. God holds all of this in his hand and He has a perfect plan. No matter what God's plan, this family will need His strength and comfort--no matter what. So please take a moment and lift up Stellan and his family.

Here is a picture of her from yesterday. She was playing dress up--Mimi has the dress up trunk!!
It made my heat smile to see this today.
We miss you Shelby but hope you are having a wonderful time.

Walking on the Wild Side

This has been a great weekend. My dear friend, Keri and her fab 5 came for a visit while Mike (Keri's husband) is on a missions trip to Mexico. Shelby took off to Mimi's house leaving Casey as the only princess in this palace of princes. Steve went to a men's conference---they may be on to something there-just kidding Keri!!!!
So what do you do when 2 moms do when they have kids who are 12, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 2, and 19 months old do? They go to the zoo and tire everybody out!!!!
It wasn't really a warm day so I was hoping that the zoo would be not crowded!! Yea, maybe next time!!! The place was slammed--I've seen more people only one other time!!!
So here are a few pictures from our day.....
Keri and the boys sitting on a lion....
We watched a sea lion demonstration. That is one big animal. I think all of the kids enjoyed watching the sea lion preform his tricks. This is Zuba standing on his front flippers.

I think one of the best things was getting to feed the giraffe. A very nice man handed Caleb some of the food he had purchased to feed the giraffes.
One of the worst things happened right before the giraffes. A goat in the farm exhibit, though that one of the twins (sorry, I'm not sure which one and Keri's on the phone) wanted to hold him--or at least pet him. Uh, not so much. For the next hour all he said was "back up" every time Keri got near an exhibit. True to our saying "it always ends in tears," the zoo trip ended in tears!! So it goes with 4 toddlers who all needed a nap and 2 moms who could have cried but then people would have really stared!!!
We did manage one last good picture of the fab 5 with mom....
Thanks for coming Keri, we have had a great weekend--next time let Mike come, too!!! (Missy and Greg, we would love to have you guys come for a visit to---you know, we're just down the alley)!!

Not Me Monday

Yep, it's that time again!!! Here is a short list of things I DEFINITELY was not a part of this past week!!!

I do not have a child who said used the phrase "what the" (nothing on the end of this but still).

I also did not have another child ask if they couldn't say "what the" because it wasn't a complete sentence.

Upon asking above child what the above mentioned phrase was (I was looking for the word FRAGMENT), I did not get the answer "PARAGRAPH"!!! So now my friend (and you know who you are) who's child can name all 7 continents (while showing 8 fingers) can get a good laugh. Ahh yes, homeschooling at it's finest!!

I also did not listen to my mom tell my 19 month old that if he was going to drive the golf cart then he had stay on the path.

I also did not ride in a golf cart being driven by a 19 month old.

I most certainly did not hear one of my children ask my mother in law if a particular pair of panties were thongs!!! Nope that was not me crawling under the clothing racks!!!

Just for the record, I did NOT call my mom and wish her a HAPPY BIRTHDAY on the wrong day. Never in a million years would I do that--and just for the record I wasn't late and my brother called her to--he just said it was because he was going to be busy today but I'm not so sure!!!

So there you go. I know there were more moments in my week that just didn't happen but we'll leave it at this for now.

Happy Birthday Mimi

Today is a special day--Mimi's birthday.
She is the best mom in the world and a totally awesome Mimi--just ask Drew, Shelby, Landon and especially Casey (who thinks she's moving in with Mimi!!!)!!!

We love you very much and hope that you have a wonderful day!!

Play Ball!!

Last night, Steve and Drew got to go and watch USC play PC in the new stadium. They had a great time--even though they didn't catch a single ball.

Don't they look like they are having fun?

Here's Drew standing under the scoreboard. That thing is huge!

Great job on the picture Steve!!!

This is Travis. He lived down the street from us in FM. This is "Big Shelby's" Brother. He pitches for PC. He didn't get to pitch last night but Steve and Drew did get to talk to him for a few minutes.

Happy Square Root Day Everyone!!!

"Count on Tuesday's alignment of the calendar to add some excitement to the lives of at least a few math geeks.

Today is Square Root Day, a rare holiday that occurs when the day and the month are both the square root of the last two digits of the current year. Numerically, March 3, 2009, can be expressed as 3/3/09, or mathematically as √9 = 3, or 3² = 3 × 3 = 9.

"These days are like calendar comets, you wait and wait and wait for them, then they brighten up your day--and poof--they're gone," Ron Gordon, a Redwood City, Calif., teacher who organized a contest intended to publicize the event, told the Associated Press. The prize, or course, is $339.

Celebrants are expected to mark the occasion by cutting root vegetables into squares or preparing other foods in the shape of the square root symbol.

Square Root Day occurs only nine times in a century. The last one occurred on February 2, 2004, and the next will occur in seven years on April 4, 2016."

I got this from a homeschool board that I visit--I certainly did not figure this out (not that I couldn't just that I didn't)!!!
