Again this week

Again this week, we had the honor of standing with a friend in a time of tragedy.  I know that most people would not consider this an honor but it truly is an honor.
It is not a fun time but it is a time where lasting bonds can be made.
It is a time to be the hands and feet of Christ.

This week, we said "until we meet again" to Matthew.
It has been our pleasure and honor to get to know Matthew's family.
I met his wife at a Bible study shortly after we moved to town.
His daughter Katie and Shelby hit it off right away.
They played daily some weeks and sometimes it was not as often.
Katie spent lots of time here and Shelby there.

This past January, Matthew was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and this past Sunday, God chose to heal him completely by bringing him to heaven.

Having 2 friends loose their husbands this year has been difficult.
Watching 7 children say goodbye to their fathers was VERY difficult.
Sitting with my daughter at a funeral definitely not an easy thing to do.
Hearing my children pray for their friends who are hurting--what a blessing!!!

Shelby and I were talking about the song God Is Still God by Heather Williams.
What a perfect song for us during this time.
Check out the lyrics and then listen to the music video at the end of this post!
Take time today to tell those around you how much you love them for we are not promised tomorrow!
Love you guys!!

Wish I knew what I'm supposed to say to you
What you're going through
But I don't know what you're feeling
Does anyone know what you're feeling right now

You're afraid
The future's like an enemy,
and you just wish you could see
'Cause you don't know where you're going
Don't let it keep you from hoping right now

Yeah we've all been lost and we've all been hurt
Where our hope is spent and our faith don't work
But nothing lasts forever
The only thing that matters
Is God is still God and He holds it together

So hang on now

He's been there, walking in the wilderness
When it's hard to see the end
But He had the strength to do it, so He can help you through it
So hang on now

So even when you lie awake
And bend until you almost break
The darkest time is right before the dawn
