Merry Christmas!!!!!!

Lights and Bears and Kids OH MY

Okay now don't be shocked but here it is another post. Here are the highlights of our visit to the Riverbanks Lights Before Christmas. We had a blast but some of us were not warm enough--I'm going to have to speak with my "weather" man who said we would need light weight jackets. I finally traded jackets with Drew so he would be warmer--trust me it was more pleasant that way for all of us!!! We have a membership to the zoo so the trip would have been free but....

those sneaky people were just inside the entrance selling these really cool fiber optic lights!! The price was good and the kids love these things (and since one of ours from Disney bit the dust recently) we got 3!! We tried to convince Drew that he was still not to big to get one (I really wanted one) but alas he said NO!! OH and guess what.... KOLA was up and active. Isn't he cute? We also got to pet Blondie. She is a very sweet horse.

A Duck, Goose and ton of tar!

Yep that's my week. Landon spent 2 days enjoying the fact that they were paving our neighborhood. I am enjoying it now that they are finished. He loved watching the dump truck....

One the second day, Steve got to enjoy the fun with the little ones... This stuff was so hot!! I can't imagine how hot it is on a summer day!! Casey loves the game Duck, Duck, Goose. It's even fun if there are only 2 people playing (because then you get to be the "ducker" sooner)!!!! Landon loves the game almost as much as Casey but he doesn't always run in a circle. He just run where ever he thinks looks good... Now try not to be jealous of all the fun we had this week!!! I'll post about going to see the lights at the zoo last night and Santa later tonight if I have time......

Apparently....

While I was getting ready the other day, Casey and Landon found my camera. I knew when I walked downstairs that they had it because Landon handed it to me right away. Hum, think they knew they shouldn't have had MY camera? Here are some of the highlights...
Landon must have been mad at not getting a turn with the camera.....But as we see here, Casey did share....

The other night they were upstairs and the doors were opening and closing and little people were running and laughing, when Steve said he thought they were at the perfect age to start causing trouble together. Yep we're there. Now as long as this is as bad as it gets....(they already unload Casey's room into Landon's room at least once a day!!)

Oh NO....NOT ME!!

Feeling bad about letting your kids eat junk for breakfast? Not getting MOM OF THE YEAR because you let a child out of the house and made it to the store withOUT shoes? Well don't worry, we're all in this together. So sit back and enjoy some of the things I did not do this week. Then head over to Mckmama's site(just click on the Not Me button at the top of this post) and see what a lot of other moms have NOT been doing this week.

This week I did not waste a ton of printer paper and ink--all while trying to actually SAVE paper!! Nope not me I am very careful with how I put paper in my printer and would never put it in upside down when I'm printing on the back of a printed page.

I did not have the opportunity to hear many (and I do mean MANY) versions of Away in A Manger as sung by a certain little blond 3 year old.

I have not forgotten to pick up the same item from the store all week. And said item has not been on my shopping list each time. I always check my list before I leave to make sure I have all the needed items.

I did not spend 2 hours shopping for something to wear to Steve's company Christmas party and then not buy a single thing for me or Steve.

I did not have a wonderful time at the party with Steve and we did not enjoy staying in the hotel over night--just us!!

I am not totally grateful to Mimi and Kokopat for keeping all of the kids this weekend.

We did not have a wonderful visit with our old neighbors in Charlotte and they are not doing great recovering from their wreck.

Steve and I did not go to a movie just because we didn't have the kids and the theater was within walking distance of our hotel.

If we had gone to a movie, we would not have chosen the midnight showing. Since we did not go to the midnight movie, then we were not walking in uptown Charlotte at 2:30AM.

I most certainly did not tell Steve how much I disliked cold weather--nope not even once.

I also did not tell Steve that we were not getting in the elevator at the hotel with 2 other couple simply because they had been parting a lot harder than we had!!

I also did not see young ladies dressed like REINDEER at several different places. If I had seen this, I'm sure that their "attire" would have been longer than the shirt I sleep in at night!!

I did not leave Mimi and Kokopat with 2 little people where had been coughing like crazy and a teenager who needed to be someplace at 8AM!
