Memories Made
Last week while Steve was sooooo sick, Shelby learned all about a green comet that we would be able to see this week. She talked about it for days on end--I know some of you are laughing at the thought of Shelby talking for days on end since that is just not her personality!!! Anyway she talked Steve into getting up at 3AM to see this comet. I'm sure that when Steve said yes, he thought he would be feeling better! She even talked Drew into getting up with them. Steve got up, Shelby got up and me, well I asked if I could see it from the window--hey it was COLD outside. Steve was hoping HE could see it from our window but alas no can do. Steve and Shelby went outside in the cold with the telescope. After a while they came in and got Drew up. I asked if they could see the comet and Steve mumbled something about not how much our telescope was worth (hey it was free and apparently at 3:30 this morning worth ever penny that we paid for it)!! Drew got up and they all went back outside. It didn't take long for Drew to see enough and come back inside--he really is my child!! Shortly after Drew came Steve and Shelby. Steve said that there had been to much light to tell that it really was green (that and the value of the telescope came up again). I think he was a little grumpy but I still love him. So Shelby, Steve and Drew all got to see a once in a lifetime green comet that was tiny and didn't even look green. As for me, I'm sure it's not the only once in a lifetime thing I've missed so far and hey, I wasn't cold!!!
As for the telescope, it really does work because we've used it to look at Mars and several other things in the past. I think Steve just really wanted Shelby to be able to see this comet and we just were not in the best place to see it (did I mention it was supposed to be right over our street light?!). I'm sure that Shelby will remember this for a long time!!! I hope so anyway.

Not Me Mondays
Okay I admit it, I stole this idea from another blogger out there. Her blog is pretty funny but I don't know her so did not link to her--just borrowed her idea. The gist of NOT ME MONDAYS is to list the embarrassing things that have happened to you over the past week and pretend that you were not a part of them at all. So here it goes my first try at NOT ME MONDAYS....
We did not contemplate going out for a quick lunch after leaving church early because
Drew was sick and we didn't want to make others at church sick.
This past week while everyone was sick, I did not let the kids eat cereal and pizza and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches all week just so I would not have to cook or even listen to any complaining about what I was serving.
Hand in hand with the above is the fact that my kids never complain about their meals--nope not my kids they happily eat what ever we feed them (as is evident from something further down the list)
I also did not leave Landon down stairs playing while I went upstairs to get away for a minute--only to find him talking on Steve's work phone to a client none the less--no way not us!!!
Out of 41 possible buttons on Steve's phone, Landon did NOT push the only one that will answer it when it is locked and ringing!!!
I did not have 10 loads of laundry to do after I started feeling better, even though I was not the sickest person in the house.
I did not cram multiple days worth of work into 2 days just so we wouldn't get behind my schedule since we have been sick.
I did not have Landon bring me something he thought was food but found out was not!! It wasn't totally disgusting--it was worse!! That never happened here and I didn't just blog about it!!!
I also did not laugh and say that I was happy our neighbor hadn't been around us when she called to say her kids were sick--just because I was happy that she didn't get it from us--you know since we were not sick this week.
I also did not let Shelby go to the zoo with a friend (after they were all here for lunch before hand) only to have said friend call later in the evening to tell me that one of her kids had just thrown up!! What is a mom to do--they act fine one minute and are sick the next--but not my kids they always give us plenty of warning!!
I don't have a daughter who believed her daddy when he told her that the guy making balloon animals spends all week putting the air in his hand pump that he uses to blow up the balloons. She did not then ask how much air that little hand pump would hold!!!
So there in a nut shell you have it our perfect live!!! So what have you NOT done this week? Leave a comment and let us know. If you want to leave a comment (and we would love for you too) you need a google account--(they're free) so what's stopping you?

WARNING!!! HOLD YOUR BREATH WHILE READING THIS!!!!
The Count:
4 (1/2?) down; 1 (1/2?) standing.
What do you get when the 2 adults and the two oldest kids in a family of 6 get sick all at one time? A messy house. It looks like Shelby has fallen as the last of the big people not sick. She is now running a fever and coughing.
So let's take an inventory of where everyone is at the minute:
Mommy on the couch in the living room
Daddy in the bed
Drew watching a movie in the big kid play room
Shelby in the living room (kicked back in a chair)
Casey is playing on the living room floor--grumpily (is that a real word?)
Landon--he's questionable. I really think he might be running a fever--(didn't we just do this?) but I haven't taken his temp. I'm just basing it on the fact that his cheeks are so red.

Isn't he cute?!
The picture just doesn't say it all. It doesn't even really come close. If you look carefully, you can see the nice rash all over Landon's back. It continues down his legs, on his bottom all the way to the bottom of his feet. It is also on his neck, the front of his torso, a little on his arms and on the palms of his hands. Thankfully it basically stopped at his jaw bone and his feet and hands only have a little bit of rash. So what do we have to thank for this lovely new skin? A virus? No that would be to easy for young Mr. Bagwell. He is allergic to penicillin!!! So for the next 24-48 hours he will look worse and then start looking better. I hate he's allergic to penicillin but I am so happy his doctor saw him again and didn't just say it was viral. I can also add this to my thankful list for today--it was a mild reaction. Now we are on a different med and hopefully he will be back to his old self soon. I sure hope so.Oh yea, doesn't this look like Casey when all you can see is the hair!
Thankful Thursday
Okay, it's been a long hard week around here but I'm still thankful. Here are some things that I am thankful for today.
1. Jesus. With out this nothing else really matters.
2. Steve. God has blessed me with a wonderful husband. I've miss him so much this week and I can't wait to see him.
3. Friends till the end. I have 2 good friends that I know I can count on and that will be my friends till the end (one of you has to and you know why)!!!
4. Snuggles--yep I love them and even though it's been a hard week with Landon so sick. He has given the best snuggles--at times this week they have almost been too much!
5. Ahh Moments--I love being there when the kids put 2 and 2 together and that light comes on. I have gotten to see that several times over the last few weeks. God is good.
6. Warm weather. Thank you Lord that you have provided nice warm and sunny days this week while Landon was sick. We still got to play outside (or at least sit and watch the other play) and we got to go on several walks.
7. My wind chimes--I love hearing them. Steve hung them on the front porch this past weekend and now I can hear them all the time. Thanks Babe!
