Right now that seems a little strange to me. I know that this is still home but as we start the process of moving and looking for a new home it just seems weird--probably because the house is REALLY clean, and lots of our stuff is in boxes and it's just different. Anyway, we're home FINALLY.
It was a long drive yesterday. It started off when we stopped by Granddaddy's to say good-bye. We were in two cars (me and the little ones in the van, Steve, Shelby and Max in the truck and Drew staying at Mimi's). Since Steve had Max, he was trying to be nice and leave the truck running while we were inside saying good-bye. Well that little plan backfired in a major way. While we were inside, Max locked Steve's truck!!! Yep we were in the middle of NO WHERE and the extra key is in the house in Fort Mill! Let me just say that Steve did an AMAZING job keeping his cool!!! I'm sure he was ready to make us short on furry 4 legged family member! He tried for a few minutes to get the door open with a coat hanger while I tried to get Max to step on the lock or window again. Steve finally decided to give up and we were going to drive back here, get the key and go back to my parents--sounds like loads of fun doesn't it? NOT!!!!! Before we did that, we decided to call our neighbor and see if he would come over and get the truck key and meet us in Columbia. Well they were not home and we found out when we got in that they couldn't get in anyway. While driving back up to my mom's I thought about a locksmith. At some points, money is no option and this was one of those times for me!! We called the locksmith but he was opening some one's car and would call us back, so we waited. While we waited, KP went up to check on Max. Well, while Mimi was giving the locksmith directions to her house, KP drove up in the truck blowing the horn!!!!! How did he get in? Max finally stepped on the window button and let the back window down!!! The locksmith was very nice and happy we got in and got Max without him. I was happy that it was only going to be $75!!! What a deal!!!! We joked around with Max, Mimi and KP for a few minutes and then headed home again.
We wanted to take a look at a neighborhood on the way home. Well traffic on I26 was stop and go but mostly stop!!! It was painful--especially after the delay with the keys. We did go by the neighborhood only to rule it out but that's okay because now we don't have to waste time on our next house hunting day--which is Tuesday afternoon. We have about 6 houses left to look at and then I think we will have seen all that we need to see, unless of course something new comes on the market. So far we've seen about 25 houses and have driven by WAY more just to check out the house/neighborhoods.
Shelby was happy that Macy was able to come over last night when we got home. They've missed each other this week. Wow, I can't believe I was gone a week it didn't seem that long (well at times it did). We are now in maintenance mode now with the house, so things ought to go pretty easy--if I can get everyone back on schedule before I mess it up again in a few weeks--Angela and her family get in from Texas on the 15 so we will be going for a visit which will throw all of us off schedule one more time but that's okay!!!
We are so blessed and love each one of you--especially my Uncle Jack and Aunt Jammie who are still talking to us even though we backed out of our plans with them at the last minute because the kids were so tired and walking that thin line of meltdown/no meltdown. We hope that they have a wonderful trip to the beach this week--they deserve it!!! Please continue to be in prayer for the little boy up here named Adam. I've sent out some emails about him in the past. He had a bad night last night (his heart stopped 2 times). I know his parents were scared to death as they watched everything. He seems better this morning but he is not out of the woods and still has a long way to go with his cancer treatment. Also Annie is doing well and trying to adjust to being back in their village. Annie and her family are really seeing God at work as people who saw her burned are now seeing the wonderful work God is doing in her life. They are getting to see the power of our God!! One of them, who Missy thinks is probably a witch, even said that God was taking care of their family. God is at work all around us!!! I have been trying to remember that daily as it's easy to get caught up in what's "wrong" or only seeing our world not the world around us!!!
